Music Festival Berry April 6 (12- 4pm)

FOXFEST FUNDRAISER RETURNS TO BERRY

Berry will again host a special concert in aid of East Timor on Saturday April 6.

The fourth Foxfest fundraiser will be held at the Cattleshed of Berry Showground, with proceeds going towards Maluk Timor, a non-government organisation that aims to transform healthcare in Timor-Leste’s community health centres.

Three musical acts will be performing: Blessie Pica, The Dynamic Lifters and Lo Roberts.

Previous concerts have drawn approximately 250 people.

“This year, attendees to the concert can expect more of the same as previous years, but in a more compact format,” says Foxfest organiser Joseph Cato. “They should expect to have a lot of fun dancing and enjoying some great performers.”

Cato first became involved with Maluk Timor nearly a decade ago through his construction background, aiding the organisation on a construction project in Dili.

There will be auctions and a raffle on the day to help raise funds for the charity.

BYO food, drinks and chairs are welcome.

Time: Saturday April 6, 12–4pm

Venue: Berry Showground, Albany St

About Maluk Timor

Maluk Timor is a Dili-based NGO that aims to transform healthcare in Timor-Leste’s community health centres, so that people get excellent quality care when and where they need it. Maluk Timor works inside government-run health centres and alongside Timorese health workers to build their capacity and strengthen their systems to tackle the country’s greatest health challenges.

Maluk Timor works together with Timorese people on programs to:

              • Prevent and treat some of Timor’s biggest killers – rheumatic heart disease, childhood malnutrition, complications in pregnancy and childbirth, tuberculosis and other infectious diseases

              • Address insidious, under-recognised health threats – HIV, dental disease and gender-based violence and discrimination

              • Target critical health workforce gaps –  train, support and empower doctors, nurses and community workers to give great quality care, and mentor staff to be health leaders

The Foxfest Music Festival and the support from organisers – Joe and Maura Cato has supported the people of East Timor for the last 6 years.

Great Music in the unique town of Berry at the showgrounds in the Cattleman’s shed. It is a wonderful day out.
