Webinar for Donors with CEO, Dr Jeremy and Board Chair, Julie Hamblin

The Maluk Timor team are eager to keep all our supporters informed about the proactive and life saving work that we are doing in Timor Leste during the COVID19 pandemic. This is work that YOU have helped to enable through your support of Maluk Timor.

As we all grapple with the social and economic impacts of COVID19 in Australia, we invite you to take a moment to hear about how the pandemic is being experienced in Timor Leste and what is being done to strengthen the capacity of the country’s health system to respond.

We thought that a good way to do that would be to run a special WEBINAR.

The webinar will occur on Wednesday 13 May at 4:00pm AEST or you will be able to watch a recording of it at a more convenient time for you.

It will be hosted on the Zoom platform (see information and meeting link further below)

While Timor-Leste has not yet encountered the terrible consequences that many countries are grappling with right now, there remains a real danger that COVID-19 will get a toehold with potentially devastating consequences. It is quite remarkable what our team has been up to and we have enticed Dr Jeremy Beckett (CEO in Timor Leste) to host a live webinar to discuss the work Maluk Timor is doing in collaboration with DFAT and the Timor Leste Ministry of Health. Our Chair Julie Hamblin and Australian CEO Michelle Wilson will also join in.

Maluk Timor’s response to this crisis is a true expression of our mission of transforming health care in community health centres so that all Timorese get quality healthcare when and where they need it. The webinar will allow our supporters to see how the model of working with our Timorese colleagues to strengthen the existing systems and build trust has allowed us to play a leading role in the Timor Leste response.

We understand that many people reading this are already encountering a very turbulent and upsetting time and while the Maluk Timor team continue to rely on donor support to fund their work, we know that many of our donors will not be in a position to donate right now. We do however trust that you will be pleased to remain informed about the work of Maluk Timor.

Thank you all for your continued support and interest of one of Australia’s most vulnerable neighbours in these most challenging of times. We all understand the importance of helping the whole world get through this together.

We will be happy to answer questions from participants during the webinar as time and technology permit. You are also welcome to send questions ahead of the webinar by email to [email protected] and we will work to answer those questions too.

Make sure you have Zoom installed on your device before the meeting … and if you don’t have it you can download the appropriate file for your device from here.

Our Zoom capacity allows for up to 100 participants so we apologise in advance if our webinar turns out to be too popular – but you can still listen to the recording later.

We look forward to having you join us.
