Belmerio Jeronimo

TB Programme Manager

My full name is BELMERIO JERONIMO, at my previous work place they called me BEL as well as at MT. Most of my working experience is in the health sector. I spent more than 10 years working in the eye health sector at management level. My recent role was managing the Ophthalmology Department at the Guido Valadares National Hospital (HNGV) from 2015 to the beginning of 2022 as Head of Ophthalmology Department. From 2009 to November 2015, I worked with The Fred Hollows Foundation, NZ at the National Eye Center, HNGV. My main role was managing daily activities at the eye clinic as clinical services manager with more than 30 staff. I did not go for any formal study to be a manager, however with my passionate and willing to learn new things, the organization that I worked with they sent me to several institutions, such as: KathMandu Nepal, Fiji, Semarang Indonesia and Madurai India to upskilling my managerial skills as well as clinical skills in ophthalmology area. Why should I quit from the eye field and choose AMT? My short answer is “more challenges, more opportunities to learn new things”. Thank you to the MT team for welcoming me as a new family member of MT and I look forward to working with you all as a team.
