Timor-Leste seems to Karl the farthest away from home he’s ever been since taking his first step into the epic journey of public health in 2014, serving in community clinics for the marginalised migrants of Singapore. In 2018, he continued to embark on his adventure as a medical student in lovely Wuhan in pursuit of serving vulnerable groups in disadvantaged areas around Asia. His current role as HIV and COVID mentor unlocked the gates that would lead him to explore strengthening health system responses to infectious diseases. There’s no telling where Karl might be swept off to next.
