Nicky first came to Timor-Leste in 2009 to work on the Bird Flu Campaign with FAO through the Ministery of Agriculture. Since then she has worked in different organisations from anti-corruption to mentoring with Red Cross. She has travelled the country far and wide as is in awe at the countries beauty, and the resilience and generosity of the people. Working with Maluk Timor is a fantastic opportunity in strengthening the health system – one step at a time. She loves the diversity and talent in the staff and volunteers at Maluk Timor. The first word she learnt in Tetun was Nicky – which means Fruit Bat.
