Helping created the role model healthcare professionals for the next generation of Timor-Leste
What have we done?
Trained Doctors
Our Family Medicine Training Program, is a recognised a Postgraduate Diploma in Family Medicine.
In collaboration with the RACS we are helping to create the “role model clinicians” of the future.
In this program we focus on improving skills in professionalism, technical knowledge, consultation, self-development, leadership and quality improvement.
So far we have:
Graduated 48 local doctors in family medicine
Trained the next generation of clinical educators
We are working closely with the national hospital, Hospital Nasional Guido Valadares, to develop their ability to deliver education.
We know that with a larger cohort of clinical educators Timor-Leste will be well on its way to sustainable, quality healthcare.
So far we have:
Trained 10 clinical educators

What's next?
After graduating these doctors through our family medicine program, we are working to support our graduates.
We are in conversation with the Timor-Leste ministry of health on how we can best support the growing number of Timorese doctors in family medicine education in the future.
