Healthcare Professional Development

Upskilling doctors and other healthcare professionals

Helping to develop a highly skilled and expert health workforce

Maluk Timor is committed to strengthening the healthcare workforce in Timor-Leste by providing comprehensive training programs that enhance the clinical skills of primary health care professionals.

Our Continuing Professional Development in Integrated Primary Health Care (CPD-IPHC) program, developed in collaboration with the Timor-Leste Ministry of Health and supported by international partners, ensures that doctors, nurses, midwives, and other healthcare workers are equipped to deliver high-quality care across the country.

What have we done?

Boosted Digital Literacy

We recognized the growing importance of digital tools in healthcare and took proactive steps to equip our clinicians with critical digital literacy skills. This training enables healthcare workers across multiple municipalities to better utilize online resources and tools in their daily work.

Built a Primary Care Curriculum

To meet the diverse healthcare needs in Timor-Leste, we developed a comprehensive eight-part curriculum focused on primary care. This curriculum enhances clinical competencies in key areas like emergency care and non-communicable diseases, ensuring that healthcare workers are well-prepared to deliver quality care.

Engaged Local Leaders

Our training programs are built on strong collaboration with local healthcare leaders and clinicians. By engaging with these key stakeholders, we ensured our programs are relevant and tailored to address the unique challenges faced by healthcare providers across Timor-Leste.
